N-point Functions in Imaginary-and Real-time Finite-temperature Formalisms

چکیده
It is proved that calculations of three-point diagrams using the Real-Time Formalism of nite temperature eld theory produce the time-ordered Green functions while the Imaginary-Time Formalism calculate retarded and advanced Green functions. A non-trivial relation between these Green functions is found. Similarly, a spectral representation for the real-time three-point function is found. The high-temperature limit of one relation clariies some of the problems

Three Point Functions at Finite Temperature
We consider the calculations of three-point functions at nite temperature as they are usually performed in the literature. We show that as normally used, the Imaginary-Time and the Real Time nite temperature formalisms calculate expectation values of retarded and time ordered three point functions respectively. We also present a relation between these quantities that shows that they are not gen...
متن کاملCutting rules in the real time formalisms at finite temperature
In this paper, we review the set of rules specific to the calculation of the imaginary part of a Green’s function at finite temperature in the real-time formalisms. Emphasis is put on the clarification of a recent controversy concerning these rules in the “1/2” formalism, more precisely on the issue related to the interpretation of these rules in terms of cut diagrams, like at T = 0. On the sec...
متن کاملAnalytic continuation of thermal N-point functions from imaginary to real energies.
We consider thermal n-point Green functions in the framework of quantum field theory at finite temperature. We show how analytic continuations from imaginary to real energies relate these functions originally defined in the imaginary-time formalism to retarded and advanced real-time ones. The described method is valid to all orders of perturbation theory. It has the further advantage that it is...
متن کاملFinite Temperature Perturbation Theory and Large Gauge Invariance
We examine finite temperature perturbation theory for Chern-Simons theories, in the context of an analogue 0 + 1-dimensional model. In particular, we show how nonextensive terms arise in the perturbative finite temperature effective action, using both the real-time and imaginary-time formalisms. We illustrate how large gauge invariance is restored at all orders, despite being broken at any give...
متن کاملTwo-Dimensional Thermofield Bosonization
The main objective of this paper is to obtain an operator realization for the bosonization of fermions in 1 + 1 dimensions, at finite, non-zero temperature T . This is achieved in the framework of the real time formalism of Thermofield Dynamics. Formally the results parallel those of the T = 0 case. The well known two-dimensional Fermion-Boson correspondences at zero temperature are shown to ho...
